"The Moulmein Limestone is also a protolith of the ‘so-called Mogok Belt’ is not clear. The Moulmein Limestone (the correlative of the Ratburi Limestone in Peninsular Thailand) of late Early Permian age and younger (Ueno & Charoentitirat 2011) is discussed below. It overlies the Mergui Group terrigenous clastic succession further south, and might be expected to be present at least locally in this northern segment of the Karen–Tenasserim Unit. Grey muddy limestone outcrops. Further south in Kayin State the Permian Moulmein (Thitsipin) Limestone, forming reef complexes, rests unconformably on moderately folded Carboniferous rocks."
